Wheel-thrown. The high-fired glaze with subtle nuances. Potter's seal
England, 20th century
Sparrey has been potting full-time since he left school at 16, having discovered a passion for the craft when he was 11. He established his first professional kiln when he was 20 and exhibited, taught and built kilns in Kuwait, sponsored by the British Council, until he moved to set up a studio in Normandy in 2004. Now based in rural Herefordshire, Sparrey's work is wheel-thrown and decorated with traditional high-fired Far Eastern glazes.
