Manufactured by New City Editions, Culver City. With the original card label to the underside marked in ballpoint "Grandpa Beaver 4/50". The label with the etched signatures of Frank Gehry and Joel Sterns (owenr of New City Editions).
The development and evolution of surface, structural integrity and patina is a significant goal of Gehry's design. Much like his Easy Edge furniture, he was interested in how the cardboard softened and the shape would be dictated by use.
