The splayed deep-buttoned upholstered back with a carved top rail and side finials leading to arching arms flanking an upholstered seat. All supported on six legs with bobbin fillets joined by bobbin-turned stretchers.

This settee was designed alongside the bobbin turned reclining armchair for Morris & Co, adapted by Philip Webb from an earlier prototype found in the workshop of a carpenter in East Sussex.

A rare Morris & Co day bed also designed by Philip Webb from the same suite sold at Christie's Auction House London (sale number 1115) for 30K on 1st May 2013.
