Richard Combes ROI trained as an architect, then moved to New York to gain a Master's degree in painting at the New York Academy of Art. Through his meticulous rendering of detail and dramatic use of perspective and colour, Combes transforms everyday objects and situations into extraordinary images that are absorbing and haunting.
Combes was elected a full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI) in 2004. He has exhibited internationally, including London and New York and his work is in public and private collections worldwide.
