The square top veneered in amboyna with a macassar ebony veneered edge restoing on a solid macassar ebony cruciform base with inset amboyna panels on small block feet.
France, circa 1920s
A fascinating character, Jourdain combined his talents as a painter, furniture maker, interior designer, ceramicist and decorative artist with his work as a political activist.
He was a regular exhibitor at major French expositions, showing new, exciting and innovative work, using unusual combinations of materials.
