Most likely made in celebration of the marriage of Napoleon and his second wife Marie Louise of Austria in 1810, these straw-work panels were made by French prisoners of war and depict the newlyweds facing eachother on horseback, titled with their names beneath. Crafted with extraordinary skill in the finest straw marquetry.
