The waisted brass and copper frame supporting a pierced brass shade inlaid with green cabochons and lined with a gingham linen. With the original oil burner and Bohemian glass shade.

Serrurier-Bovy was an architect and designer. Influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement, he was one of the creators of Art Nouveau. Several pieces of his furniture are in the collection of the Musee d'Orsay, Paris.
