The marquetry back signed Hans Barnstoft above a central oval medallion depicting a lady with a flag and urn, flanked by floral sprays, above marquetry writing reading 'Anno 1832'. The reverse with the same motifs but displaying the back of the lady. The back above turned spindles and flanked by chip carved uprights leading to out-splaying elm arms with turned spindles. With a woven split cane seat on four champhered legs joined by stretchers.
