The unusually shaped tilt top with a conforming gallery on a fluted and carved column stem on three shaped legs finely carved with flowers and leaves terminating in a carved pad foot.

Provenance: from a private Scottish estate
Vile was one of the best cabinetmakers of the Early Georgian period (1745-1780), second only to Chippendale and he was awarded the Royal Warrant to make furniture for King George III, based on his superb quality and the individuality of his designs.
