From the 'Mönster-Bok' for 'Unga Fruntimmer' (young women) by Maria Christina Ekenmark.
Printed in Linköping, Axel Petre 1827.
Sweden, 1827
Priced individually.
An unusual white-on-black rendering. Charles B. Wood argues that the close similarity between the patterns here and those in early C19th American coverlets suggests that this may have come to America in the 1830s or '40s, when the mass immigration of Swedish pioneers to the midwest was in full swing.
