Made by Loetz to a design by Dr. Christopher Dresser. Commissioned and sold by London retailer Max Emanuel.

Condition: In wonderful original condition
Max Emanuel, an importer and retailer of European porcelain and glass, commissioned a series of vases by Loetz in 1898 which were made to designs by Dr. Christopher Dresser. Dresser is known to have licensed some of his designs to a certain few respected retailers. It is likely, though not proved, that Emanuel bought the licence to these designs and commissioned Loetz to make them.
An example of Dresser's original Clutha glass vase to the same design, made by Messrs. J. Couper & Sons, is illustrated in Dresser's Decorative Design. Christopher Morley, 2010. pg. 285, fig. 580.
