Each with a scrolling shield shape back with a central heart reserve enclosing the painted coat of arms of the Capron family, depicting a suit of armour holding a cross and an arrow. The back delineated with a recessed groove above solid seats on turned front legs. All in a particularly fine mahogany.

Provenance: Originally made for the Capron family who purchased Southwick Hall, Northamptonshire in 1840. These chairs would have been brought with them to their new home where they remained until they came into our possession.
