Each with the original patinated tan saddle-stitched leather covering the back, seat, and the continuous legs.

Italy, circa 1970s

The quality of the leather is testiment to the nature of the Grassi business: originally a 'selleria' or saddelry, the company made primarily bridles for horses. However, the end of the Second World War saw Brianza, the region where Matteo Grassi was based, become a hub of industrial design, and the company pivoted from agricultural manufacture to a more lucrative, design-led output.
